Join us for an unforgettable evening of giving back while enjoying a special commemorative beer crafted exclusively by Six Harbors Brewing Company in Huntington, NY. With every draft poured and every 4-pack purchased, a portion of the proceeds will support the National Institute for Law & Justice (NILJ) and its mission to fund cold case investigations—helping bring answers, justice, and peace to families in need.

During the gathering, we’ll also be honoring special individuals who are committed to fighting for the rights of victims and community service to others.

We couldn’t do this without the support of generous sponsorslisted below. (THANK YOU!)

We hope to see you on August 6th at 5pm at Six Harbors Brewing Company where you can raise a glass, support a meaningful cause, and help bring hope to families still seeking answers.

Featured Honorees

NILJ PERSON OF THE YEAR

Joe Imperatrice

Ret. NYPD Sergeant Co-founder, Blue Lives Matter NYC

As the founder of Blue Lives Matter NYC, Joe Imperatrice has built something that endures long after the cameras turn off — a nonprofit that stands beside the Gold Star families of fallen officers in their hardest moments, and that advocates tirelessly for the men and women who serve our communities every day. A 20-year NYPD veteran, Joe's team has raised over $4 million for line-of-duty families and critically ill children connected to law enforcement, and his voice has reached audiences nationwide through Fox News, Newsmax, and beyond. His commitment to honoring fallen heroes and caring for the families they leave behind speaks directly to what NILJ was founded to do: make sure no family is left searching for answers or support alone. We are proud to name Joe our 2026 Person of the Year.

HUMANITARIAN/JUSTICE
WARRIOR OF THE YEAR

Marjorie Mesidor, Esq.

Attorney and Founder of Mesidor, PLLC

Marjorie Mesidor doesn't just fight for justice — she fights for it because she has lived the experience of needing someone to fight for her. As one of New York's most formidable employment law attorneys, known to many as "The Harassment Slayer," she has secured over $75 million for clients whose dignity was violated and whose voices deserved to be heard. But Marjorie's commitment to justice extends beyond the courtroom. She has volunteered her legal expertise to support NILJ's Justice for Daoud initiative, standing alongside our team in the fight to exonerate Daoud Boone — a military veteran and playwright who has spent 18 years imprisoned in Alabama for a crime the evidence does not support. That willingness to step into a cause not because it's easy, but because it's right, is the definition of a Justice Warrior. We are honored to celebrate Marjorie on August 6th.

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT

Kristin Thorne

5 x Emmy Award Winning Investigative Journalist & Producer

Kristin Thorne has spent her career doing what NILJ was built to do: making sure the missing aren't forgotten and the voiceless are heard. A five-time Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter with 15 years at ABC and CBS in New York, she has committed, every time, to ensuring the stories of families shattered by crime and tragedy reached the people who needed to hear them. As creator, writer, director, executive producer, and host of Missing — Hulu's first-ever true crime series dedicated to finding missing people — she helped investigators develop new leads on several cold-case disappearances. Kristin also shone a national spotlight on NILJ's own Alex Bello Ortiz case on the Law and Crime Network, helping amplify a family's fight for accountability that ultimately led to a $4 million wrongful death civil lawsuit victory. Through her production company, Rebel Muse Productions, and her role as an adjunct professor at Hofstra University teaching advanced investigative journalism, she continues passing on the skills that make accountability possible. We are honored to celebrate her extraordinary career and enduring dedication to truth on August 6th.
