Rev. Richard Boone and Daoud Boone
Daoud Boone - Wrongful Conviction
Daoud Boone has spent the past 18 years behind bars for a crime we believe he did not commit. Born the son of prominent Civil Rights Activist, the late Reverend Richard Boone, Daoud believes he was born a target simply because his father was a revolutionary fighting against prejudice and police brutality. Learn more about Daoud’s case, his journey, and his mission to help shine a light on cases like his and the injustice he and countless others experience within the prison system by clicking here.
NILJ is working to help Daoud fight for justice.

Our investigative partners are currently working cases that involve missing persons and homicide victims—many of whom are considered cold cases. Below are summaries of a few of the cases we’ve worked on recently or are currently working on.
From the age of 14, Sienna suffered unimaginable sexual abuse at the hands of her parents. But it didn’t end there—her parents trafficked her for money. Eventually, she escaped but ended up on the streets under the control of several prostitution ring leaders. In March of 2021, Sienna disappeared completely. NILJ was asked to find her in November of 2023. Through boots on the ground investigation and interviews, she was found alive in a women’s shelter in January of 2024.

Serial Killer Case Victims Uncovered
Mark and team are currently working on uncovering additional victims of a notorious serial killer who is behind bars. Currently, we are working five separate but related homicide cold cases in Suffolk County and Long Island, New York. Three additional cases are being investigated in Manhattan & Queens, NY.
2005 Cold Case - Long Awaited Answers in Missing Teen Case
A teen went missing without a trace in 2005. Local law enforcement and the FBI welcomed NILJ’s assistance in moving the case along after leads dried up years ago. After thorough investigative work and interviews, the NILJ investigative team found the location where the teen’s body was likely hidden. Our valued partner, Stapleton Security Search and Rescue Canine, provided a cadaver dog to work the suspected crime scene. DNA testing is currently underway to validate that the missing teen was murdered in 2005.
